Are you ready to dive into a magical underwater world without even getting wet? Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is one of the most exciting attractions in the heart of Dubai! This place is not just an aquarium—it’s an experience that takes you deep into the ocean, where you can come face-to-face with some of the world’s most fascinating sea creatures.
Whether you love sharks, adore cute otters, or just want to walk through a tunnel surrounded by thousands of fish, the Dubai Aquarium is the perfect spot to explore. Let’s dive in and discover what makes this place so special!
Imagine standing in front of the world’s largest suspended aquarium tank! The Dubai Aquarium’s giant tank holds 10 million litres of water and is home to over 140 species of marine life. You don’t even need a ticket to admire this massive tank—it’s visible from inside The Dubai Mall, which is a part of our summer camps in Dubai.
But the real magic happens when you step inside the Underwater Tunnel, which is a 48-metre-long pathway surrounded by thousands of sea creatures swimming all around.
Fun Fact: Did you know the Dubai Aquarium has one of the world’s largest collections of Sand Tiger Sharks? These fierce-looking sharks may look scary, but they are actually quite calm and friendly!
The Dubai Aquarium is home to some of the most incredible marine animals. Here are a few you shouldn’t miss:
The aquarium has many different species of sharks, including Leopard Sharks, Blacktip Reef Sharks, and even Giant Groupers. The aquarium also offers a Shark Cage Experience—where you step into a cage and get a close look at these majestic creatures. And let’s not forget about rays! The aquarium is home to many types of stingrays, like the Eagle Ray, which looks like it’s flying through the water.
In the Underwater Zoo, you’ll see some of the cutest creatures ever—Asian small-clawed otters! These little animals love to swim, play, and show off their funny tricks.
Another crowd favourite? The colony of Gentoo Penguins! These penguins live in a specially designed icy habitat, just like their natural home in Antarctica. Watching them waddle, swim, and slide on the ice is a truly joyful experience.
One of the most famous residents of the Dubai Aquarium is King Croc. This massive saltwater crocodile is over 5 metres long and weighs more than 750 kg—that’s as heavy as a small car! King Croc is one of the largest reptiles in the world, and seeing him up close is a thrilling experience.
Fun Fact: Crocodiles can hold their breath underwater for over an hour!
Anyone over 10 years old can go cage snorkelling in the main tank. And for those with a diving certificate, you can go on a shark dive! Imagine being surrounded by massive sharks in the water—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Hop on a glass-bottom boat ride, where you can glide over the aquarium and see the marine life from above. It’s like looking through a magical underwater window!
Ever wondered what it takes to care for thousands of sea creatures? The Behind-the-Scenes Tour gives a sneak peek into the life of marine experts. Visitors can learn how they feed the animals, care for baby creatures, and even train some of them!
