Whether you love exploring, sightseeing, or simply enjoying the vibe of a big city, our summer school programs offer the right opportunity to experience something special in a new destination.
Let’s dive into what makes the Magnificent Mile a travel experience beyond just shopping.
The Magnificent Mile (or “Mag Mile” as the locals call it) is a lively 1.2-mile (about 2 km) stretch of Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. It runs from the Chicago River to Oak Street, packed with iconic buildings, delicious restaurants, world-class museums, and, of course, legendary shopping.
But wait—there’s more! It’s not just about stores. This area is a true symbol of Chicago’s energy, history, and culture. Walking along the Mag Mile, you’ll see some of the tallest skyscrapers, stunning architecture, and famous landmarks.
This historic skyscraper isn’t just beautiful—it’s built with stones from famous landmarks all over the world! You’ll find pieces from the Great Wall of China, the Pyramids of Egypt, and even the Parthenon in Greece. Cool, right?
Want to see Chicago from above? Head to 360 Chicago in the John Hancock Center. The view from the 94th floor is breathtaking! You can see the whole city, Lake Michigan, and even four different U.S. states on a clear day. And if you love adventure, try “TILT”—a glass platform that tilts you forward over the city.
This is not just a museum—it’s a playground of colour, creativity, and, yes, ice cream! Slide into a pool of sprinkles, take fun photos in pink rooms, and enjoy free ice cream along the way.
Just a short walk from the Mag Mile, the Chicago Riverwalk is perfect for a relaxing break. You can take a boat tour, try kayaking, or just sit by the water and enjoy the view.
This beautiful stone tower is one of the few buildings that survived the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. It’s a great place to snap a photo and learn a little Chicago history.
Walking along the Magnificent Mile will make you hungry! Luckily, there are a variety of delicious spots to try. Here are some favourites:
Giordano’s – Famous for Chicago-style deep-dish pizza (trust us, you have to try it!).
Velvet Taco – Creative and tasty tacos with a fun twist.
Stan’s Doughnuts – One of the best places for a sweet treat. Their doughnuts are legendary!
